Black Swamp Arts Council is sponsoring a drama class for kids and a felt purse class for adults during February and March.
Kids Take the Stage -- Enroll in this drama program designed to help kids age 6-10 learn about the basics of theater through fun games and workshops. Kids will learn how to work together as a cast and build self-confidence for their next big audition.
No prior theater experience is necessary, but space is limited so sign up soon! The class will be held four consecutive Mondays after school from 4:00-5:00, beginning February 22. There is a fee of $35 for the class and registration is required. You may register through our calendar or at the library.
Hip to be Square -- This class is an introduction to knitting and felting. You will learn to knit and purl in the round and make pretty little flowers to adorn your bag. The pattern is easy enough for the beginner and if you already know how to knit, it's a great way to express your creativity with your choices of yarn color and embellishments.
The class will be held on Saturdays February 27 and March 13 from 10:00 to noon. Registration is required and there is a $25 registration fee. More information and a complete list of materials you will need to purchase is available to be printed from the library's calendar where you may register. You may also register at the library where fliers are available which list the required materials.
Class size is limited to 12 and to individuals age 16 and up.
