Come-Write-In

Since 1999, November has been recognized as National Novel Writing Month.

This year, the Archbold Community Library is teaming up with the folks at NaNoWriMo.org and making it official. Libraries are great places to not only read, but write, too! We have the space, we have the seating, we have the outlets, we have the computers, we have the wifi, and we even have a covered drink policy!!

Friends' Semi-Annual Sale

The Friends of the Archbold Community Library are hosting a book sale in the community room of the library during regular business hours.

What will we be selling? A little bit of everything! Kids' books and books for teens, as well as audiobooks and DVDs. We also have nonfiction and fiction for adults sorted into genres to make it easier for you to find what you love! We have westerns, mysteries, large print, religious fiction, and science fiction!

Prices? Free-will donation!

Friends Fundraiser

The Friends of the Archbold Community Library are partnering with Carruth Studio to host a fundraiser from March 25-April 12.

Your purchase supports our Friends group, who is working toward a makerspace for our children's area.

The fundraiser is just in time for Mother's Day! Be sure to turn your cash or check with your order form into the library no later than April 12. Please make checks out to the Friends of the Archbold Community Library.

Catalogs are available at the circulation desk of the library.

Chalk Couture Program

Archbold Community Library is hosting its first "Make & Take" program for adults on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:30-8:30 pm. For $35, all participants will get their own 12 x 18 chalkboard with frame, and all the needed supplies to complete their own chalk couture creations. The best part? No experience or artistic skills are required; art is created through screens (think: stencils) with chalk paste and squeegees. It's all being taught by independent designer, Samantha Flip. If you'd like to find out more about her, you can find her on facebook @samsprocraftination

Come meet Archbold's new library director!

Hi! My name is Sonya Huser and I'm excited to be joining the team at the Archbold Community Library as the new director! Despite the fact that my last name is pronounced "Hoosier," I am thrilled to move to Ohio to begin the next chapter in my career. I earned my Master of Library Science seven years ago from IU and for most of my professional career, I was a school librarian for the Muncie Community Schools in Muncie, IN. From the school library, I moved on to become a Youth Services Specialist for the Muncie Public Library.
