First of all...what is early literacy?
Early literacy is everything a child knows about reading and writing before they actually are proficient readers and writers.
What is an Early Literacy Center?
An early literacy center is a place that caregivers and babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers up through third grade can go TOGETHER to do the work of emerging and beginning readers and the work of childhood is play.
Registration will begin soon for story times (designed for 2 year olds with a caregiver present) and story hours (for 3-5 year olds not yet in kindergarten).
Registration begins Wednesday, September 4th at 9:30 a.m.
Registration will also begin for October, November, and December LEGO Clubs at the same time.
We are in the midst of redoing the calendar, but rest assured you will still be able to register online (or you can always give us a call at 419-446-2783 and we can do it for you.)

FAQ: What is an early literacy center?
The first Tuesday of the month from February through April is for grades K-5 this spring and winter. We will meet at 3:30 at the Boy Scout Building at Ruihley Park, due to construction of our early literacy center at the library!
Hosted by the Wauseon Public Library, The Delta Public Library, and The Archbold Community Library, teams of up to 2-8 people can sign up to participate in a county-wide amazing race scavenger hunt! All teams earn a prize and can compete for the grand prize.
Race day is Saturday, October 21st. The race begins at 10 am!
To participate, sign up your team at the Archbold Community Library or email m.yunker@archboldlibrary.org BEFORE race day!

Lego Club dates and times have been added to the calendar.
Grades K-2 meet the first Wednesday every month in October, November, and December from 3:30-4:30.
Grades 3-5 meet the third Wednesday every month in October, November, and December from 3:30-4:30.

Registration is required and capped at 12 kids per session. You DO need to register for each session your child will attend.

The Friends of the Archbold Community Library are hosting a book sale in the community room of the library during regular business hours.
What will we be selling? A little bit of everything! Kids' books and books for teens, as well as audiobooks and DVDs. We also have nonfiction and fiction for adults sorted into genres to make it easier for you to find what you love! We have westerns, mysteries, large print, religious fiction, and science fiction!
Prices? Free-will donation!
Join percussionist Lori Fithian for "Drummunity!" at the Ruihley Park pavilion on Thursday, June 1st at 11 am.

There are two ways to participate in our Summer Reading Program: by reading minutes or attending events.
