Come meet a local author!

Join us for a special storytime presented by local children's book author, Lisa Williams, where she will be reading her latest release, Soulfire. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing after the event! The event is taking place at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2026. This is geared for children ages 3 and up. The Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale is Coming Up!

The 2026 Friends of the Archbold Community Book Sale will be held from August 4-15

Come shop during regular library hours in our community room! The sale starts for the general public on Tuesday, August 4th, when we open, at 9:30 am.

Books are sold by free-will donation.

Please make plans to support the Friends' of the Library group. Money raised goes towards reading incentives, programming, and new materials for the library.

Early Literacy Center Information

First of all...what is early literacy?

Early literacy is everything a child knows about reading and writing before they actually are proficient readers and writers.

What is an Early Literacy Center?

An early literacy center is a place that caregivers and babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers up through third grade can go TOGETHER to do the work of emerging and beginning readers and the work of childhood is play. 

Get ready for our next semi-annual puzzle exchange!

The Archbold Community Library is going to be hosting a drop-in Puzzle Exchange in the Community Room of the Library on Saturday, September 19th from 10 am - 1 pm. Come in during that time to browse our patron-provided puzzle collection. Check out the event on our calendar here.

On the day of the exchange, drop off your gently used puzzles, peruse the available puzzles, take what looks interesting to you, and leave the rest for someone else to enjoy.

Save the date for fall programming registration!

Registration will begins soon for story times (designed for 2 year olds with a caregiver present) and story hours (for 3-5 year olds not yet in kindergarten). Registration for fall LEGO Clubs (grades K-5) will begin on Tuesday, Sepstember 1st as well.

Registration will continue through September 12th or when sessions fill up, whichever happens first.

Here is some information about Story Times and Story Hours:

They are both ten week sessions with breaks the weeks of October 12th and November 23rd.

The Archbold Community Library is going to be hosting a drop-in Puzzle Exchange in the Community Room of the Library on Saturday, April 11th from 10 am - 1 pm. Come in during that time to browse our patron-provided puzzle collection. Check out the event on our calendar here.

Bring the puzzles you no longer have a need for to the Library anytime the week of April 6th. This will allow us to get them organized by the day of! If you can't bring them before the exchange, no worries!

The Archbold Community Library's annual magazine giveaway will start at 9:30 am on Monday, April 6th.

Are you an avid cook, carpenter, gardener, birder, news junkie, or quilter? We've got a magazine for that!

Come take advantage as we let go of our 2025 issues to make room for all that 2026 has to offer!

There will be magazines for all age groups from kids to teen to adults! Find them in the bay window area of the main reading room of the Library.
