Pagemasters is Archbold's newest bookclub!
It's new! It's inclusive! It's free-form! It's casual! It's not your typical book club!
What Pagemasters is all about:
It's a flexible, safe space to discuss, read, and make connections. It's welcome to all readers and all books! Pagemasters meets once a month to unwind and take a break from the daily grind. Join us for good people and good books!
First of all...what is early literacy?
Early literacy is everything a child knows about reading and writing before they actually are proficient readers and writers.
What is an Early Literacy Center?
An early literacy center is a place that caregivers and babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers up through third grade can go TOGETHER to do the work of emerging and beginning readers and the work of childhood is play.
What is it? How does it work?
Cookin' by the Book is a cooking book club!
Most months, we each check out a copy of the same cookbook, cook a recipe from that book, and bring what we made to share at the meeting! It's a great way to find good recipes and try new foods, and make new friends!
When is it happening?
Our next meetup is Thursday, April 24th from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Library's new and improved Community Room.
Gathering Volumes, Archbold Community Library, and Ohio Northern University Rudolph H. Raabe College of Pharmacy are excited to host a virtual visit with Eric Eyre, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of Death in Mud Lick, named a Best Book of the Year by The New York Times and nominated for a 2021 Edgar Allan Poe Award. Mr. Eyre will be speaking with the community virtually on the day of the paperback release of Death in Mud Lick, Tuesday, April 6, at 6:30 PM.
First of all, thank you to our patrons who answered our calls for advocacy and reached out to Members of the Ohio House of Representatives.
You no longer need to contact Ohio House members.
The Archbold Community Library's annual magazine giveaway will start at 9:30 am on Monday, April 7th in conjunction with National Library Week.
Are you an avid cook, carpenter, gardener, birder, news junkie, or quilter? We've got a magazine for that!
Come take advantage as we let go of our 2024 issues to make room for what 2025 has to offer!
Donations are welcome, but not expected. Tell a friend!
Dear patrons,
You may notice that some things have been moved around. Please excuse our setup while we make way for a brand new early literacy center in the library!
FAQ: What is an early literacy center?
The first Tuesday of the month from February through April is for grades K-5 this spring and winter. We will meet at 3:30 at the Boy Scout Building at Ruihley Park, due to construction of our early literacy center at the library!
Because of the construction of a brand new Early Literacy Center in the library, Story Time and Story Hour are going to undergo some major changes for the semester until the build is complete. We will be combining toddler story time with story hour to create a unique and fun family experience where caregivers are involved in each event.
